Many people have been affected by the unusual and fast high water from this year’s runoff. The Association’s staff, along with people from adjacent cities or neighborhoods, have worked around the clock at times to prevent or mitigate the effects of flooding waterways. The Association’s particular thanks go out to the people of Oakley, who helped keep the Weber-Provo Diversion clean and operating. Other neighbors have been very helpful by calling and letting us know of areas of concern along river or canal banks. We appreciate the many watchful eyes. The unusual runoff season of 2010 allowed everyone involved to learn new things about flood preparation and the operation of these water systems. At the end, all the reservoirs are full as we begin the summer irrigation season.
The Provo Reservoir Canal Enclosure Project is gaining momentum. A large amount of the steel coil has arrived at the pipe manufacturing plant in Pleasant Grove. The manufacture of test pipe has begun. The work of reconstructing SR-92 in Lehi along the Provo Reservoir Canal continues. Canal crossings at SR-92, 1200 West and Center Street have been completed.
