The Association is Busy on Three Fronts

The 2010 spring runoff is coming on a month late but trying to make up for lost time.  The water levels and flow rates have picked up dramatically over the past few days.  Crews are watching the action at the Provo River above Jordanelle Reservoir, keeping the flows in check on the Weber-Provo Canal, and expecting the flows on the Duchesne River to pick up even more as the temperatures continue to rise.

The work of preparation for the Provo Reservoir Canal Enclosure Project is also ramping up.  The pipe manufacturer, Northwest Pipe, is preparing its machinery to manufacture the approximately 2800 sections of 10.5’ diameter steel pipe.  Dovetailing with this project, the northern Utah County cities and Utah County, along with the Utah Department of Transportation, are preparing to let the contract to design and build the trail that will go along the enclosed canal.

Finally, the Association is celebrating its 75th Anniversary this summer.  The official celebration will be at the Pleasant Grove site, which is located at 285 West 1100 North, Pleasant Grove.  The celebration is scheduled for Tuesday, June 8, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M.  Anyone who is interested is welcome to come and visit.
